The Center for Celebrant Training Celebrant is dedicated to the enhancement of each person's spiritual growth and development and thus to the worth, dignity, well-being, and unique potential of each individual.
As the Code of Ethics of the Center, this document establishes principles that define the ethical behavior of a Celebrant.
Ethical Standards
Responsibility:
• Celebrants are fully responsible for their decisions and actions in this role.
• Celebrants have an essential responsibility to do no harm.
• Celebrants are to be concerned with the well-being of their clients.
Competence:
• Celebrants must recognize the limits of their competence and must practice within the scope of their background, training, knowledge, and experience.
• Celebrants are urged to maintain competence in their areas of practice through continuing education and experience
Moral and Legal Standards:
• Celebrants’ moral, ethical, and legal standards of behavior, as they pertain to their role, must serve to enhance the spiritual growth and development of their clients.
• Celebrants are not to engage in any action that will violate or diminish the legal or civil rights of anyone they serve.
Public Statements:
• Celebrants' public statements must not contain false or misleading information regarding their credentials or the ministerial services which they offer.
• Celebrants’ public statements must be consistent with the Code of Ethics.
• Other than to indicate they are certified through the Center for Celebrant Training, Celebrants shall make no public statements using the name of the University or Center without prior approval in writing by the administration.
